Hi everyone!
It’s been such a long time – this is our first post of 2025! I hope you’ve all been well.
Emma is on the cover of the September issue of Hollywood Authentic! She was photographed by Greg Williams, and interviewed by Hassan Akkad. The photos have been added to our gallery, and you can read the interview below.

Emma Watson invites Greg Williams to a game of pickleball in Cannes as she revels in being the happiest and healthiest she has ever been. She tells her friend and filmmaker Hassan Akkad about shedding her public persona, holding space for change and how walking away from things is much harder than walking towards them…
Emma Watson is currently living in the present, practicing being in the world without the pressure of producing. This past May, that meant travelling to the Cannes Film Festival to immerse herself in movies with her friend and filmmaker Hassan Akkad after a self-imposed break from the public eye. It’s there that Greg Williams captured pictures of the actor playing her new obsession: pickleball. ‘It’s the sound the ball makes when you smack it; it’s the best therapy I never paid for,’ she says as she plays. Having had a hectic film career since she was just 10 years old and cast as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise (going on to The Bling Ring, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Beauty and the Beast and Little Women), Watson has since taken a calculated step back from acting to continue her education and challenge herself. After they return from the French Riviera, Watson and Akkad catch up to discuss the exploration of creativity and having the courage to leave something behind.
HA: How are you? What’s been going on?
EW: I’m good. Just been working really hard. I’m working on – actually, I’m not going to say what, because then people are like, ‘Well, when is it happening? What’s going on with this thing?’ So I’m just going to say that I’m working on something that I’ve never done before. So I feel a bit like a person who’s in the dark, stumbling around, looking for the edges of something, and hoping [laughs]. It sounds like I’m trying to find a light switch. But it’s good. That’s the process. That’s the process of making things, isn’t it?
According to the website CNA Lifestyle, as well as the event’s official website, Emma is set to speak at this year’s TechLaw.Fest alongside her father, Chris Watson. The event will be held in Singapore, but it is unclear whether the Watsons will be there in person or through video conference.
The Harry Potter star will speak about diversity and inclusivity on Thursday (Sep 12) alongside her father, renowned communications law expert Chris Watson. Other speakers at TechLaw.Fest 2024 include Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong, and Singaporean musician Inch Chua.
This year’s TechLaw.Fest will be held from Sep 11 to 12 at the Heliconia Ballroom of Sands Expo and Convention Centre. To enter the event, visitors will have to register for a pass on its official website.
Hi guys! How’s 2024 treating you so far?
We’ve updated our gallery with photos of Emma’s first public event of the year! She was at the Prada Fall/Winter 2024 Fashion Show in Milan, which was a part of Milan Fashion Week. As a reminder, Emma is the face of Prada’s PARADOXE fragrance, so her partnership with the brand has been ongoing for a couple of years.
As Emma Watson – a champion of sustainability since child stardom – embarks on a personal and professional reset, she tells Emily Chan from Vogue UK why the environment remains front and centre in her mission.

“Oh, my God, where have these been all day?” squeals Emma Watson, who has just spotted a massive jar of retro sweets in the corner of the east London studio we’re in. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone more excited, but then it is 8pm on a cold November night and after a long day on set it’s little wonder that the 33-year-old is in need of a sugar boost.
Her energy levels may be flagging, but Watson certainly knows how to turn it on when she needs to – unsurprising, really, given that she’s been in front of the camera practically her whole life. “You’re the one who’s been covering all my sustainable stuff,” the actor enthuses post shoot, as we settle down on a sofa for our conversation. “[You’re] the person who’s been, like, actually noticing all these weird things I’ve been doing for years.”
She is correct, although weird isn’t the word I would use to describe Watson’s avid support of eco-conscious fashion. Trend-setting, yes, even pioneering: way back in 2009, when Watson was just 19 years old and the word “sustainable” was barely part of our collective mainstream vocabulary, she had collaborated on a collection with fair trade brand People Tree. Later, on the red carpet, she wore archival and repurposed looks long before the current trend took off. Take the 2016 Met Gala, for example, where she sported a Calvin Klein gown made of recycled plastic bottles. On the Beauty and the Beast press tour the following year, she documented her planet-friendly looks via a dedicated Instagram account, listing the green credentials and endeavours of every brand she wore, while behind the scenes she worked with costume designer Jacqueline Durran to ensure the looks she wore on-screen were also made with the same ethos in mind. More recently, she sat on Gucci-owner Kering’s board of directors, as chair of its sustainability committee, and has championed a new crop of eco-minded designers, such as Harris Reed.
