Celyn   —   News Regression

Director Alejandro Amenábar’s latest work, “Regression,” starring Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson, will have its world premiere as the opener of the 2015 San Sebastian Festival.

“Regression” follows Detective Bruce Kenner in 1990’s Minnesota as he investigates the case of Angela, who accuses her father, John, of sexual abuse. When John’s memory of the crime is fuzzy and unclear, psychologist Dr. Raines is brought to the case to find out the truth. As the detective explores further and further, he uncovers more mysteries that cause Angela to fear for her and Kenner’s lives.

The film also stars David Thewlis and David Dencik. It will have its world premiere on September 18 in the Kursaal Auditorium. “Regression” will open in Spain on October 2, followed by Germany, the UK, France, Italy China and Korea later this fall. The 2015 San Sebastian Festival will run from September 18-26.

The Toronto International Film Festival has just announced the first batch of titles for this year’s line-up and it was announced that “Colonia” has been selected for the festival. The film will be screened as part of the ‘Special Presentations’ lineup.

Plot: Two young lovers find themselves trapped in the murderous crackdown following the 1973 coup against Chilean president Salvador Allende.
Runtime: 110 minutes
Principal Cast: Emma Watson , Daniel Brühl, Michael Nyqvist
