Today we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the very first Harry Potter book written by J.K. Rowling. Although the first film would only come out a few years later, we feel like this date is more than worthy of a celebratory post, seeing as that book changed so many of our lives forever. Through magic and wonder, these books exemplified in the best possible way how love, courage and friendship are the most valuable possessions a person can ever have on their journey. We are thankful for the excitement, the laughter and the tears they have provided us, and for all the people we’ve met through this story. Thank you, @jkrowling, for giving us Hermione Granger, the brightest witch of her age. A character that has inspired an entire generation of women to be knowledgeable, loyal and fierce. Congratulations on the 20 years inspiring young wizards and witches around the world to be better people, to treat each other with compassion and kindness, and for teaching us all that sometimes all it takes to change a life is a book.
After all this time? Always.
