Emma attended the Prada Paradoxe Launch Party in London a couple of days ago, and our gallery has been updated with the images. She also attended a celebratory dinner for the fragrance in New York City about a month ago, and those images have been uploaded as well, along with a few more from the fragrance’s promotional photoshoot, and of Emma on set while shooting the ad.

On the 15th of September, leaders in fashion, art, activism and philanthropy united at the Kering Foundation’s first-ever Caring for Women Dinner held at The Pool in New York City. Hosted by Anderson Cooper, the event was co-chaired by Salma Hayek Pinault, François-Henri Pinault, Gisele Bündchen, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Samuel L. Jackson, Julie Mehretu, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, and Gloria Steinem. Emma was a guest at the event, as well as Karlie Kloss, Jodie Turner-Smith, Christy Turlington Burns, Ed Burns, Kat Graham, Adam Silver, Jeremy O. Harris, and many more.

Our gallery has been updated with images of Emma at the gala, and you can read more about the event below.

Since 2008, the Kering Foundation has worked to combat violence against women by supporting survivors to live free from violence, changing behaviors and attitudes to break the cycle of violence and taking collective action to stand against violence. The Foundation funds local NGOs to provide support and resources to women and those directly impacted by violence.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the evening benefited the following organizations to address gender-based violence: National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), Global Fund for Women, Jordan River Foundation (JRF) and Ms. Foundation for Women.

Anderson Cooper kicked off the evening by noting that gender-based violence happens everywhere, citing his experiences reporting from around the world. “I’ve seen sexual violence used as a weapon of war when I was reporting in the Congo. We hear it in the devastating stories coming out of Ukraine today. It is everywhere, and it touches everyone,” Cooper said.

Her Majesty Queen Rania, founder of the Jordan River Foundation, took the stage to emphasize the urgency of the Kering Foundation’s core mission. “Sadly, crises are not gender-neutral,” she began. “Today, we live in a world where seismic disruptions have become the norm…from pandemics, to climate change, to mass migration, to conflict and shifting geopolitics. And women and girls are always the first to feel the ground shift under their feet. They are the first to suffer and the last to recover, their agony underground and in the shadows.”

Several weeks ago, there was a buzz on Twitter regarding Emma’s whereabouts and how many people had seen her in Spain and France. One of the fans that spotted her in Paris, France, mentioned she seemed to have been filming something – and now we finally know what that was! Prada has unveiled Emma as the face of their new fragrance, called Paradoxe.

Interestingly enough, Prada isn’t owned by Kering, of which Emma is the Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Board of Directors – I had initially assumed it was, so I had to double check.

Our gallery has been updated with the only promotional image of the fragrance that has been released so far. My apologies for taking quite a while to do it, as my internet provider is in a perpetual war against our fansite’s server, so I’m constantly blocked from accessing it. It seems like they’re all being kind to be today, though, so I’ve taken the opportunity! 😆

The name alone incites intrigue and mystery as it is obviously derived of the word “paradox”, making us but wonder what unique formula they have created this time.

The philosophy behind Paradoxe’s creation can be summed up in two words, “reinvention” and “consolidation”. Prada wants to reintroduce signature notes from a brand new perspective and to find the perfect harmony sensuality and intensity. Evidently, it is not just quality they are after; they have set their eyes on a more innovative approach with Paradoxe.

Top notes: Calabrian Bergamot Heart, Tangerine Essence, Pear Accord

Middle notes: Neroli Essence and Neroli Bud Essence, Tunisian Orange Flower Heart Absolute Blossom, Jasmine Sambac Absolute

Base notes: Amber Accord (Ambrofix™), Laos Benzoin Resinoid, Madagascar Premium Bourbon Vanilla Infusion, White Musk Accord (Serenolide™)

To achieve this, Prada focused on the composition of notes in this fragrance to strike an equal balance between the floral and ambery notes that are often associated with femininity and the dominating presence of Neroli bud extraction, capturing the flower’s fullest dimension. This will be Prada’s first-time attempt at Neroli bud extraction.

The house aims at reinventing sensuality with the release of Paradoxe thanks to Ambrofix, a bio-converted amber, which will intensify this sense of warmth. Speaking of intensity, Prada revealed that a new revolutionary musk molecule, the Serenolide, will be used in the composition and it is promised to guarantee an intense yet subtle, comfortable, and easily noticeable trail.

The house selected the charismatic and ever so popular, Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame, to be the face of the campaign.

Paradoxe will arrive in an intriguingly shaped glass bottle. The bottle is shaped like a tilted triangle more reminiscent of an arrow-head with black cap that is similarly tilted, giving this asymmetric-looking bottle a sense of wonder and beguilement rarely seen in today’s designs.

The new Prada Paradoxe will be available on the official website starting from 26 august in three bottle sizes 30ml, 50ml, 90ml and 100 ml Refillable bottle Eau de Parfum.
