Hair/Makeup Guide

Sporting a smokey eye and nude coloured lips, Emma rocked sultry like no other. Achieving it, however, isn't as complex as it seems. I would recommend though, that you're older than 16 to try this. Younger girls need to keep makeup simple if they want to wear any at all.

First you'll need to make sure you have at least three different neutral orchrome eyeshadows (don't use a green and a blue).Try something like NARS Eyeshadow in Night Star, Cyprus and California. Using the lightest shadow (and for the sake of consistency we'll pretend we're all using NARS), sweep across your entire eyelid to your brow bone. Then use an eyeliner brush to apply a thin line of eyeliner to both the bottom and top of your eye and blend (I find a q-tip works perfectly, just do it as gently as you can). This will give you the smudged affect we're aiming for. Follow with another sweep of your lightest eyeshadow shade.

Next apply your second darkest shade to your eyelid (but not the brow bone, it'll look like you've been punched), in this case, Cyprus. Lightly blend with the tip of your finger down to the upper lashline. Finish with the darkest shade of eyeshadow (our example is California), applying it to the crease of your eyelid. You may want to use another q-tip to check for any streaks of eyeshadow in places they shouldn't be. Apply two or three coats of mascara, I recommened Yves Saint Laurent Aquaresistant mascara in black.

Because of the drama your eyes will create, everything else needs to be kept clean, neutral and simple. Sweep a soft pink or peach blush. I suggest Laura Mercier cheek colour in Azalea. Finally slick on some pale pink or clear lipgloss, Chanel has some perfect shades, try Cristalle Gloss in #12 Bonbon or #14 in Sugar
